Dosing Guide
The label on the bottle is short because the bottle is small. This is the long version: where to start, how to adjust, and what to expect.
The three things that decide whether CBD works for you
One, the right product. Two, the right dose. Three, consistent use. That is the formula, and when CBD does not work for someone, it is almost always because one of the three was missing.
If you have tried CBD before and felt nothing, it probably was not a CBD problem. It was a wrong product, a wrong dose, or no consistency. The first one we have handled for you: our oil is full spectrum with the THC still in it, and the plant's terpenes kept intact. Terpenes are hemp's essential oils and they are essential to the effect. Most extraction cooks them off. Ours does not, and every lot has a published lab report so you can confirm what is actually in the bottle. The other two parts are what this page is for.
Start here, whatever you bought
Take too little and nothing happens. That is the most common way people fail with CBD, and we see it more than any other mistake. Start at a real dose, give it a week of consistent use, then adjust.
What you are looking for is your minimum effective dose: enough to do the job, and no more. That number is genuinely different from person to person, and the only way to find yours is to start at a real dose and move in steps.
A week is a fair test. Four weeks is a fair verdict. If four weeks go by and nothing is different, that is what the 60-day guarantee is for.
Full Spectrum CBD Oil
Start with one full dropper. That is 1 mL, about 33 mg of CBD.
Most people land between one and three droppers a day. Our data and years of customer experience say somewhere around 100 to 120 mg of CBD and 1 to 5 mg of THC a day is where many people find their best results. Do not be shy about going up.
- Just swallow it. Holding it under your tongue works too, but it is not worth the taste.
- Take it with food. CBD is fat soluble, and food helps you absorb it.
- Shake the bottle first.
- It does not work on skin. That is what the balm is for.
Timing. Onset is 30 to 60 minutes. Full effect can take up to two hours. Do not take more before the hour is up. It clears in about eight hours, so two or three doses spread through the day is what all-day coverage actually looks like.
- For sleep or night-time discomfort: 30 to 60 minutes before bed.
- For daytime: with breakfast, then again later in the day.
If you want to move in smaller steps than half a dropper, one drop is about 1.7 mg and there are roughly 20 drops in a dropper.
One note on your bottle. If the serving printed on your label reads smaller than the guidance here, the label is behind. We are updating it. This page is what our data supports.
About sleep, specifically
These are not sedatives and we do not sell them as one. Most people do not find them sedating at all. Some find them mildly sleep-inducing. Others feel more energized once the pain or the stress lets go, which catches people off guard.
That variation is exactly why you test the dose and the timing rather than following someone else's number. If it winds you up at night, move the dose earlier in the day.
CBD Softgels
Three softgels equal one dropper of oil. Same formula, no measuring, no taste.
Start with three. Go up to nine a day if you need to. Each softgel is 10 to 12 mg of CBD and about half a milligram of THC, so nine puts you in the same place three droppers of oil would.
If you want to find out whether a very small amount does the job for you, take one and see. Some people are hunting for the minimum effective dose rather than the full one, and a single softgel is the cleanest way to test that.
Softgels go through your digestive system, so they come on slower than the oil and last longer once they do. That is why a lot of customers use them at night for staying asleep.
Elderberry Gummies
The oil's ratio in gummy form.
Start with one. Up to three at a time, one to three times a day.
Max Full-Spectrum Delta-9 Gummies
These are our strongest product and the only one that can produce what you would call a buzz. Read this part properly.
Each gummy is 5 mg THC and 25 mg CBD. Wait two hours before taking another.
If you are new to hemp or cannabis, start with one gummy. One, then wait. Do not decide after 45 minutes that it is not working, because that is the mistake everyone makes with edibles and it is how a pleasant evening becomes an unpleasant one.
If you are sensitive to things, or worried about feeling high, start with half a gummy. That is 2.5 mg of THC. This is exactly why the 4-count exists: finding out should cost a few dollars, not thirty.
Two is the ceiling unless you are already familiar with cannabis. Five to ten milligrams of THC is roughly where people start to notice a buzz rather than just feeling relaxed. Above that is a personal call, and one to make slowly and at home rather than quickly and somewhere you need to be sharp.
If you want high CBD and high THC together, take the oil alongside a Max gummy rather than stacking gummies.
CBD Balm
A pea to a blueberry sized amount, wherever you need it. Rub it in.
- It takes 10 to 30 minutes to come on, and it may tingle. That is the eucalyptus, ginger, camphor and nerolidol carrier doing its job, and that carrier is what takes the CBD through your skin. Plain oil rubbed on skin just sits there and is wasted.
- It rubs off on fabric. Put it on after your shower and once you are dressed, not before.
- Sore feet: balm, then socks, then bed. It stays where you put it overnight instead of ending up on the sheets.
- One to three times a day, and again when it wears off. More is not automatically better, and a little goes further than people expect.
- Use it on as many areas as you need. There is no reason to pick one.
- Skin only. Never take it by mouth.
- You do not need to coordinate it with the oil. They work differently and can be used together.
Dogs and cats
Our Full Spectrum CBD Oil can be used with cats and dogs 12 weeks or older, and about a third of our pet-owning customers do exactly that. Serving size is calculated by body weight rather than by dropper, so we keep it on its own page: recommended serving size for pets.
Before you start
Do not drive. Until you know how a product affects you, do not drive and do not operate heavy machinery. That goes for the oil, the softgels and both gummies, not just the Max.
Drug testing. Our full spectrum products contain small but real amounts of THC. You may fail a drug test. If your job tests, do not buy full spectrum from us or from anyone else. We would rather lose the sale than your job.
Prescription medication. Does anything you take carry a grapefruit warning? If so, talk to your doctor before adding CBD. The interaction pathway is the same one.
Pregnant or breastfeeding. There is not enough research. Talk to your doctor.
21 and over. Not for use by or sale to persons under the age of 21.
