How the guarantee works
We started this after we lost someone.
In 2016 Devin Alvarez was surrounded by opioid addiction. Friends first, then family. When one of them died of it, he stopped waiting for somebody else to build a better option.
He had spent years as a quality control chemist testing other people’s cannabis, so he knew exactly how much of it was mislabeled. He built the thing he could not find: hemp made in-house, formulated by the person whose name is on it, with the lab report published for every lot.
He started Straight Hemp in Colorado in 2016 and spent the first couple of years farming before there was a product to sell. We moved the whole operation to Gainesville, Florida in 2021, after COVID and once we started having kids. The hemp has never stopped coming from the same place: partner farms in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, exclusively.
That is still the whole company. We are formulator-owned, we make everything ourselves in Gainesville, Florida, and we give product and support to organizations working the same problem.

Our hemp is grown by partner farms in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, the farmland that built the modern hemp industry. We use one variety, Suzy Q, which means the terpenes in your bottle come from one genetic line rather than a blend of whatever cleared the spot market that month.
That is also why we can hold the profile steady. We steam-distill the terpenes off those same Suzy Q plants and put them back at the same levels in every batch we make. Most brands get whatever survived extraction that day.
